Two Directions, Inc. was established in 1998 to fill a niche and need for training Native Americans residing in North County San Diego. Incorporated in the State of California as a special-purpose, minority women’s corporation, Two Directions operates under a contract with the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Assn., Inc. (SCTCA) to provide training to Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants.
Tribal TANF is a federal and state funded program that provides participants with monetary benefits and supportive services. TANF benefits include monthly cash aid, transportation assistance, career counseling/job search and job placement, child care assistance, mileage reimbursement and other services.
Two Directions, Inc. is the working bridge between these programs and each participant. Because we understand that the TANF participant often experiences a lifestyle that is full of challenges and difficulties, we strive daily to provide each individual with quality, meaningful, relevant instruction in a professional and empathetic environment that motivates and enables them to successfully achieve their goals. Classes are designed to increase participants’ employability.
“The name Two Directions represents our vision to provide quality training for our TANF participants preparing them for their future, but also honoring and celebrating our Native American cultural traditions of the past.”
